CHERRYVILLE – N.C. Department of Transportation crews will close Sorrells Baxter Road near N.C. 274 on Monday morning, July 24, weather permitting.
The closure is needed so crews can safely replace a large pipe under the roadway. The work is anticipated to last through mid-August.
During the closure, a posted detour will take drivers from Sorrell Baxter Road to Eaker Road, N.C. 182 and N.C. 274, returning to Sorrell Baxter Road.
Local access will be maintained during the project.
