THOMASVILLE – The N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close access to the rest areas on Interstate 85 near Thomasville this week.
From 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. on July 19, entry to the rest areas on both the northbound and southbound sides of the interstate near mile marker 100 will be closed to allow crews to perform needed preventive maintenance on facilities. This project will require water service to be turned off at both locations.
The nearest available rest areas accessible to motorists are in Cabarrus County on I-85 South near mile marker 59 and the Alamance County rest area near the I-85 North/I-40 East interchange at mile marker 139.
