LAURINBURG - A section of U.S. 15/501 in Scotland County is closed as NCDOT crews complete work on a pipe replacement project.
The 1.6 mile stretch between Plant Road and McFarland Road will be closed until August 4, weather permitting.
A signed detour is in place and is as follows:
- Northbound: follow Plant Road to Laurel Hill Church Road to N.C. 144 to U.S. 15/501.
- Southbound: follow McFarland Road to U.S. 401 to U.S. 15/501.
Homes and businesses along the project will remain open and accessible to local traffic.
Drivers are encouraged to stay alert and use caution when nearing the work zone and following the detours.
