​PINEHURST - The N.C. Department of Transportation is closing shoulders and lanes​ as needed at the intersection of N.C. 15/501 and Morganton Road beginning tonight.
From 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday through Friday, crews will perform grading, paving, and upgrades to signals and pavement markings.
The work is part of an intersection improvement project to add turn lanes and improve traffic flow.
Temporary traffic signals will guide motorists through the work zone.
The work is expected to be completed Oct. 27, weather permitting.
Motorists are encouraged to slow down and use caution when approaching the work zone.
