PERSON COUNTY- More than 8 miles of local roads will be refreshed and made smoother.
The N.C. Department of Transportation awarded a $1.25 million contract to Carolina Sunrock LLC out of Raleigh to conduct milling, resurfacing and shoulder reconstruction to the following secondary roads:
- Wheelers Church Road from the Orange County line to N.C. 49.
- Dirgie Mine Road from Olive Branch Road to Granville County line.
- Main Street from W. Morehead Street to U.S. 501/N.C. 49.
- Tonker Drive from Boston Road to Tonker Drive
- Tonker Drive/Mount View Road from Tonker Drive to Boston Road
The contractor’s work can start as early as March and should be complete by fall of 2025.​
