RALEIGH- A section of Interstate 440 West is set to close overnight this week so crews can safely conduct bridge work.
Weather permitting, I-440 west will be closed from Hillsborough Street to Western Boulevard from midnight to 5 a.m. Thursday.
As signed detour will direct drivers to take Hillsborough Street to Gorman Street and Western Boulevard back to I-440 westbound.
Transportation officials remind drivers to remain alert, obey all posted traffic signs and follow instructions of local law enforcement in active work zones.
