RALEIGH- The drive on 4.7 miles of roadway will become smoother thanks to a $3.31 million award from the North Carolina Department of Transportation to Carolina Sunrock LLC out of Raleigh.
Construction is set to begin next spring with a completion set for the fall of 2024 (Nov 15, 2025 per contract). The following roads will see milling and resurfacing:
- Westchase Road from Blue Ridge Road to the West Entrance into North Carolina State’s Sports Facility
- Blue Ridge Road from Western Boulevard to about Hutton Street
- Blue Ridge Road from Reedy Creek Road to Glenwood Avenue
Transportation officials remind drivers to remain alert, obey all posted traffic signs and follow instructions of local law enforcement in active work zones
