YOUNGSVILLE- A prominent intersection in downtown Youngsville is being revised to improve safety and mobility.
The N.C. Department of Transportation plans to adjust the traffic pattern, access, and add new sidewalk, curb, and gutter where College Street (U.S. 1 Alternate) intersects West Main Street (Holden Road). This includes a new dedicated left turn lane on southbound North College Street.
Work is set to begin in the next few weeks and last several months. Drivers should expect some delays with lane closures, lane shifts, as well as night work throughout the life of the project.
There will be no detour during daytime construction but may be needed during night work.
