DURHAM- The N.C. Department of Transportation has multiple job openings and invites the public to come explore career opportunities during an upcoming hiring event.
The event is free and will be held Jan. 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the NCWorks Career Center located at 1105 S. Briggs Ave. in Durham.
Job seekers will have the opportunity to apply for open positions, have their applications screened, interview for openings and have their hiring packages fast tracked.
“Our partnership with NCWorks has been invaluable in helping us address our critical hiring needs,” said Jon Arnold, NCDOT assistant division maintenance engineer. “NCWorks has a deep understanding of the local workforce and can connect us with qualified candidates who are a good fit for our organization. NCDOT intends to fill more than a dozen openings across positions of Transportation Worker, Automotive Mechanic/Vehicle Equipment Repair Technician, and Electronics Technician. These positions are considered “skilled labor positions” that may include manual labor.
Recent, similar events in Durham and Franklin counties resulted in dozens of new hires.
