WILMINGTON - The outside lanes of a section of Market Street in Wilmington will close overnight this week for construction.
Beginning at 8 p.m. tonight and Thursday, the outside lanes of the roadway between Station and Middle Sound Loop roads will close. All lanes of Market Street will reopen to drivers by 6 a.m. the following morning.
These closures will allow the N.C. Department of Transportation contractor to pave. This work is associated with the Military Cutoff Road extension project.
NCDOT encourages drivers to avoid the area and seek an alternate route if possible. If drivers use Market Street they should anticipate delays and use caution while driving in the work zone.
