MORRISVILLE- Overnight closures are scheduled to start tonight as part of ongoing work for the Airport Boulevard project.
Weather permitting, one lane of I-40 East is set to close at Airport Boulevard tonight starting at 8 p.m. with a total closure by midnight. All lanes will be back open by 5 a.m. Wednesday. The same closures are planned for Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
Because traffic cannot go underneath the bridge during construction, drivers will be detoured to use the Airport Boulevard exit, cross over and continue on I-40 East.
NCDOT officials urge drivers to factor these construction activities into their trip and remain alert throughout the work zone.
