WAKE COUNTY – About 16 miles of roadway in southeastern Wake County will be updated thanks to a $3.6 million contract recently awarded by the N.C. Department of Transportation.
Fred Smith Company will be milling and resurfacing portions of 34 secondary roads. Some of the busier roads include:
- Poole Road from Rose Lane to Ajinomoto Drive
- Smithfield Road from Bethlehem Road to Baywood Forest Drive
- Hodge Road from Leonard Road to Poole Road
- Hodge Road from Poole Road to the railroad tracks
Work can begin as early as March 2024 and finish late 2025.
