RALEIGH - The North Carolina Turnpike Authority is constructing the eastern portion of the Complete 540 Project, which will extend the Triangle Expressway (Toll N.C. 540) from Interstate 40 to Interstate 87.
A portion of U.S. 70 Business will experience temporary overnight intermittent lane closures so that project contractors can perform geotechnical investigations. Beginning on or around March 18 through March 22, temporary overnight intermittent lane closures will be in place between Garner Business Park Drive and Auburn Knightdale Road along U.S. 70 Business. The lane closures will begin at 9:00 p.m. and end by 5:00 a.m. on each day of the scheduled work.
At the lane closure, U.S. 70 Business will operate as a single-lane roadway in the direction of the lane closure with signage to guide drivers through the lane closure. Drivers should slow down and pay attention when navigating the work zone.
