WINSTON SALEM – An N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will implement nightly lane and ramp closures this weekend on Interstate 40 in Forsyth County for ongoing work as part of the Winston Salem Northern Beltway Project, weather permitting.
The following closures will take place on
Friday night from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. and again on
Saturday night from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m.:
- The I-40 westbound right lane will be closed at Union Cross road for approximately 1.5 miles.
- The onramp from Union Cross Road to I-40 west will be closed with a detour.
The following closures will take place on Sunday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.:
- The I-40 westbound right lane will be closed from Oak Groove Church Road to High Point Road.
To avoid the work, drivers are encouraged to utilize U.S. 421 (Salem Parkway).
Drivers should use caution while traveling through the work zones and plan accordingly for delays.
