FUQUAY-VARINA – Buckhorn Dunkin Road will be closed temporarily from Duncan Cook Road to the Wake/Harnett County line.
Construction crews will be grinding up the current pavement and will reuse the old material to lay down a foundation for new pavement- a cost-effective process called full-depth reclamation. As part of this work, Buckhorn Dunkin Road will also be widened from 18 feet to 20 feet.
Weather permitting, the work is expected to last between two and three weeks. During this time, traffic will be detoured to follow Duncan Cook and Piney Grove-Wilbon roads and N.C. 42 to access points on either side of the closure.
Drivers should slow down and be alert for crews and equipment going through this work zone.
