MONROE– A $2.2 million contract awarded by the N.C. Department of Transportation last month will bring improvements to nearly seven miles of roads in Union County.
Contractor True Rock Construction LLC of Monroe will perform the improvements on seven sections of secondary roads including:
- Sunset Drive (westbound) between Griffith Road and N.C. 207
- Sunset Drive (eastbound) between N.C. 207 and Franklin Street
- Snyders Store Road between White Store Road and Old Pageland-Monroe Road
- Griffith Road between W. Sunset Drive and Lancaster Avenue
- Rea Road (both directions) between Marvin School Road and Tom Short Road
- Stack Road between Jack Davis Road and Mullis Road
Work can start as early as May 1, with the contract calling for completion in the fall of 2025.
