LEXINGTON – An N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will implement a road closure Tuesday morning, weather permitting.
The railroad crossing on Charlie Hinkle Road will close around 7 a.m. and reopen late Wednesday for crews to perform maintenance on the railroad.
A signed detour will guide traffic onto Old Highway 52 to Welcome-Bethesda Road and back onto Charlie Hinkle Road.
Drivers should anticipate a longer commute and plan, and slow down and remain alert near the work zone.
