RALEIGH – The North Carolina Department of Transportation has awarded a $19 million contract to S.T. Wooten of Wilson to upgrade New Hope Church Road near St. Albans Drive in Raleigh.
The project will include a new bridge that will allow vehicles to pass over the railroad tracks, creating a permanent separation between cars, trains, and pedestrians and significantly improving safety in the area. Additional improvements include updated traffic signals, grading, drainage, and paving.
Construction could begin as early as this month; the department will notify the public when details are confirmed. Substantial completion anticipated by fall 2027. This project is part of the S-line project.
