WINSTON SALEM — The N.C. Department of Transportation is advising drivers to expect a left lane closure on U.S. 52 North near Ziglar Road this weekend as part of the ongoing construction for the Winston-Salem Northern Beltway.
Starting tonight at 7:00 p.m., the left lane will be closed on the northbound side of U.S. 52, between the railroad bridges north of Ziglar Road and the area south of the Ziglar Road bridge. This closure will allow crews to remove the barrier wall, mill, pave, and stripe the northbound section and entrance ramp. The lane closure is expected to remain in place until 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
Once work on the left shoulder and left lane is completed, the lane closure will be shifted to the right lane to allow for paving and striping on the outside.
NCDOT urges drivers to follow all posted signage, use caution when approaching the work zone, and plan for possible delays.
