DURHAM- Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation will complete preservation work on the Fayetteville Road bridge over Interstate 40 this week, weather permitting.
Crews will use a large platform attached to the bridge to work. For safety, I-40 West at Fayetteville Road will close nightly Nov. 20 through Nov. 22 starting at 11 p.m., and reopen the following morning by 5 a.m.
Traffic on westbound I-40 will exit at Fayetteville Road (Exit 276), and continue onto N.C. 54, N.C. 751 back to I-40 West.
Drivers should prepare for some delays, remain alert and obey all posted signs.
