DURHAM- Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation will complete preservation work on the Fayetteville Road bridge over Interstate 40 East this week, weather permitting.
Crews will close eastbound lanes of I-40 nightly Dec. 2 through Dec. 8 starting at 11 p.m., and reopen the following morning by 5 a.m.
Traffic on eastbound I-40 will exit at Fayetteville Road (Exit 276), and continue onto N.C. 54, N.C.55 back to I-40 East.
Drivers should prepare for some delays, remain alert and obey all posted signs.
