ROCKY MOUNT – The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles will reopen the license plate agency (LPA) in Marshall on Tuesday, March 11. This office has been closed since Sept. 27, 2024, due to damage from the remnants of Hurricane Helene, and is the final DMV office to reopen after the storm.
The agency will again be operated by Mary Ponder and under the management of Laura Smith. The office will be located at 133 S. Main St., Suite 103, just one door down from the old office at Suite 102, and will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday, except on state holidays.
In North Carolina, NCDMV oversees LPAs, but the agencies are managed by private businesses or local governments.
LPAs offer vehicle registration services and title transactions, as well as vehicle license plate renewals, replacement tags, handicap placards and duplicate registrations. There are 126 license plate agencies operating across North Carolina.
Services such as property tax payments and registration renewals can also be completed online at MyNCDMV.gov.
