Fayetteville Route Requires Temporary Closure

FAYETTEVILLE – Improvements being made to a Fayetteville corridor will require a temporary closure on Rosehill Road next week.

A contractor will replace a crossline drainpipe with a larger one underneath the road near Shaw Mill Road to improve storm drainage. Rosehill Road is scheduled to close Monday morning, and reopen by May 2, weather permitting.

A signed detour will direct through-traffic to use Shaw Mill Road, Murchison Road and Country Club Drive to access Rosehill Road. People should be mindful of a longer commute using this detour, and be alert near this work site.

The work is part of a $1.3 million construction contract paid for by the city of Fayetteville and managed by the N.C. Department of Transportation, which maintains Rosehill Road. The project also includes sidewalk construction, concrete curb and gutters and storm drainage work. All of the improvements are expected to be completed by this fall.
