LUMBERTON – Seven miles of N.C. 211 north of Lumberton will be resurfaced and improved for safety, after the N.C. Department of Transportation awarded a $1.7 million contract last week.
Contract workers will mill and resurface the highway between I-95 and Pine Meadow Road as noted on this Google map. Crews also will install rumble strips and high-visibility pavement markings to improve highway safety.
Johnson Bros. Utility & Paving Co., which is based in Lillington, can begin the project this summer, and has a fall 2026 completion date. The work will require sections of the two-lane highway to have lane closures under flagging operations, so drivers should slow down and be alert.
