Ramps and Lane Closures Planned for Beltline This Weekend

RALEIGH – Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation plan to improve a bridge this weekend on Interstate 440 East near Glenwood Avenue.

The work will involve milling and applying a latex-modified concrete overlay. Lane closures are scheduled to begin 10 p.m. Saturday and will continue until 5 a.m. on Monday, weather permitting. During this period, the eastbound  ramp from Glenwood Avenue to I-440 East and the ramp from Ridge Road to I-440 East will also be closed.

Glenwood Avenue drivers wanting to access I-440 East should continue on Glenwood Avenue, make a U-turn at the Woman's Club Drive intersection, and then proceed to the interstate.

Traffic on Ridge Road should detour via Glen Eden Drive and Glenwood Avenue to reach I-440 East.

Drivers can expect the heaviest traffic near Glenwood Avenue during the daytime hours Sunday and are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.
