A Pitt County Road is scheduled to be closed to traffic next week while crews conduct maintenance.
Beginning at 7 a.m. June 11, crews from S.T. Wooten Corporation will close a portion of Worthington Road near Corey Road while performing drainage tie-ins as part of a roundabout construction. The stretch of roadway is expected to reopen by 5 p.m. August 8.
Detour signs will be installed for traffic and pedestrians. Drivers heading towards Worthington Road will be detoured onto Old Tar Road to Laurie Ellis Road to Jack Jones Road to County Home Road. Corey Road traffic will be detoured onto Firetower Road to County Home Road.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution when navigating around the work zone and pay attention to the advised detour routes.
