Construction to Begin at Two Iredell County Intersections

MOORESVILLE – N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will begin work next week to realign and signalize two intersections near Mooresville.

NJR Group Inc. of Albemarle will begin work to enhance safety and improve traffic flow by realigning the intersections of N.C. 150, Wiggins Road and N.C. 152, adding turn lanes along N.C. 150 and signalizing the intersections.

The $4 million project will improve sight distance and ease traffic congestion during peak hours.

Wiggins Road between N.C. 150 and N.C. 152 will close starting the week of July 7 while crews install water lines, clear land, install drainage pipes, grade and pave for the first phase of the project.

Advanced warning and detour signs will guide drivers around the closure using N.C. 150 and N.C. 152 until phase one is finished and Wiggins Road reopens this fall.

After this phase is complete, lane closures are expected along N.C. 150, N.C. 152 and Wiggins Road north of N.C. 150 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The entire project is expected to be finished by summer 2026.
