WINSTON-SALEM – Drivers should expect delays Monday traveling on U.S. 421 South near Exit 228 (Linville Road) because of maintenance work.
Crews with the N.C. Department of Transportation will repair a sinkhole forming on the shoulder of the Salem Parkway. For everyone's safety, however, the crews will close the right lane for southbound traffic while the repairs are made to the shoulder.
The work is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and last until the evening before the repairs can be completed. Drivers should be alert traveling through this area.
