Beaufort - A Carteret County Road will close for one day next week while crews conduct maintenance, weather permitting.
Beginning at 8 a.m. Aug. 5, crews from the N.C. Department of Transportation will close a portion of
Merrimon Road near U.S. 70 and reopen it by 4 p.m. the same day to replace a failing cross line drainage pipe.
Additionally, intermittent lane closures can be expected on Aug. 6 throughout the day.

U.S. 70 E for 4 mile to N.C. 101
North on N.C. 101 for 6 miles to Laurel Road
East on Laurel Road for 2.5 miles to Merrimon Road
