LANDIS – A N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will temporarily close a section of Rice Street on Aug. 8. to complete asphalt patching related to a recent water line installation.
The road closure will begin at 9 a.m. and is expected to last until 2 p.m. the same day, weather permitting. West Rice Street will close between South Vance Street and Mt. Moriah Church Road during this time.
Patch work was delayed earlier this week due to the weather and now requires full closure.
Drivers should travel north on Mt. Moriah Church Road then east on West Ryder Avenue, continue south on South Main Street, to return to West Rice Street.
Motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly and follow posted detour signs.
