​HILLSBOROUGH - Contract crews with the N.C. Department of Transportation will perform nightly closures of a ramp onto Interstate 40 next week.
Beginning at 10 p.m. Aug. 11, crews from The Lane Construction Corporation will close the New Hope Church Road on-ramp to I-40 East for traffic shift operations.
The ramp will reopen by 5 a.m. the following morning.
This closure will repeat the evenings of Aug. 12 and 13 during the same timeframes.
A signed detour will direct motorists to I-40 East by taking I-40 West to Old N.C. 86.
Drivers are encouraged to use caution when approaching the detour route and check DriveNC.gov​ for real-time traffic information.
