BANNER ELK – One lane of an Avery County road will close while N.C. Department of Transportation crews replace a culvert.
Traffic on Dobbins Road will be controlled by traffic signals beginning Wednesday, Aug. 13, while crews replace a box culvert that Hurricane Helene damaged about 1 mile from N.C. 184.
The new structure will improve water flow in the area.
Traffic signals will guide drivers along the one-lane detour on a temporary road and bridge until repairs are finished this fall.
