ROCKY MOUNT – The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles’ Driver License office in Elizabeth City will temporarily close Friday and Saturday so crews can perform office interior upgrades.
The office, located at 1164 U.S. Hwy. 17, in Elizabeth City, will be closed Aug. 15-16 and will reopen at 7 a.m. on Aug. 18.
Customers with scheduled appointments for Aug. 15 at the Elizabeth City office have been rescheduled or will be serviced at nearby offices in Ahoskie or Nags Head. Saturday service hours will not be provided at the Elizabeth City office on Aug. 16.
In the meantime, walk-in customers can visit the following offices on Aug. 15 from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. while the Elizabeth City office is temporarily closed:
• Ahoskie, 242 N.C. Hwy. 42 W.
• Nags Head, 2808 S. Croatan Hwy. (U.S. Hwy. 158 E.)
• Williamston, 305 E. Main St., Suite 116 (Martin Co. Government Center)
• Greenville, 4651 N. Creek Dr. (DOT/DMV Building)
The Greenville office will provide Saturday service hours from 8 a.m.-noon on Aug. 16.
DMV offers driver license renewals and many other services online. Customers are encouraged to check the official DMV website at
NCDMV.gov to see if their driver license needs can be met online.
