WINSTON-SALEM – A contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation will close the right lane of Interstate 40 West as part of the ongoing Winston-Salem Northern Beltway project.
Beginning at 9 p.m. tonight, the right lane of I-40 West between Union Cross Road (Exit 201) and High Point Road (Exit 198), will be closed and is expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Aug. 13, weather permitting.
The lane closure is necessary for pavement marking installation from Union Cross Road to I-40 West.
At the conclusion of the work, the Union Cross Road ramp to I-40 West will reopen to traffic.
Motorists should allow extra time for travel and use caution near the work zone.
