ROCKY MOUNT – The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles’ Driver License office in Smithfield is closed through Aug. 15 so crews can perform office maintenance and repairs. The office was scheduled to reopen Aug. 14, however inclement weather conditions in the area this week have resulted in work delays at the office location.
The office, located at 3783 U.S. Hwy. 310 S., in Smithfield, is now scheduled to reopen at 7 a.m. on Aug. 18. Customers with scheduled appointments at the Smithfield office this week have been rescheduled.
In the meantime, walk-in customers can visit the following offices this week from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. while the Smithfield office is temporarily closed:
• Clayton, 1665 Old U.S. Hwy. 70 W. (Shotwell Station)
• Goldsboro, 701 W. Grantham St.
• Garner, 222 Forest Hills Dr. (Forest Hills Shopping Center)

NCDMV.gov to see if their driver license needs can be met online.
