ROWAN COUNTY - N.C. Department of Transportation crews will close a section of Liberty Road beginning Aug. 27, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting, to allow crews to replace a storm drain culvert.
The existing culvert failed, preventing proper storm water drainage. This closure is necessary to prevent further damage to the roadway and nearby properties.
Liberty Road will be closed to all traffic near Hill Road for the duration of the repair.
Traffic will be detoured onto Hill Road, St. Peter's Church Road and U.S. 52.
Motorists are encouraged to follow posted signage and allow extra travel time during the closure.
