KANNAPOLIS – N.C. Department Transportation crews will close a section of West C Street from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sept. 15, weather permitting, in order to replace a storm drain culvert.
The existing culvert has failed to properly carry stormwater runoff beneath the road. This closure is necessary to prevent further damage to the road.
West. C Street near Orchard Avenue will be closed in both directions for the one-day closure. Below is the detour information.
Eastbound traffic: Take Rainbow Road to Mooresville Road, then Dale Earnhardt Boulevard, back to West C Street.
Westbound traffic: Loop Road to Dale Earnhardt Boulevard, to Mooresville Road, then Rainbow Road to return to West C Street.
Motorists are encouraged to follow posted signage and allow extra travel time during the closure.
