RALEIGH- Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation plan to close Melbourne Road bridge one night this week for bridgework. This is part of the Interstate 440 improvement project.
Crews will close the bridge on Sept. 18 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting.
Traffic will be directed to use Kaplan Drive, Athens Drive, Jones Franklin Road, and Western Boulevard to access points on either side of the closure.
Drivers should be mindful of posted signs and use extra caution in this work zone.
