WINSTON-SALEM – A contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation will close U.S. 52 Southbound on and off ramps at Hanes Mill Road for about a month as part of the widening project.

Both ramps will be closed from 1 a.m. Oct. 7 until 11 p.m. Nov. 5, weather permitting.

The closures are necessary to facilitate the construction of the ramp and loop tie-ins to the new alignment for the project.

Signed detours will be in place for the on-ramp from Hanes Mill Road to U.S. 52 Southbound and off-ramp from U.S. 52 Southbound to Hanes Mill Road.

Motorists are urged to plan ahead and follow posted signage.
