TOBACCOVILLE – Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close a lane and off-ramp on U.S. 52 Southbound for crews to replace a failing concrete slab, weather permitting.
Starting at 9 a.m. Oct. 14, crews will close the right lane of U.S. 52 Southbound for a half mile near mile marker 38. While this right lane is closed, the off-ramp from U.S. 52 Southbound to Moore-RJR Drive also will close.
A signed detour will be in place to guide traffic around the closure.
The closures are scheduled to end by 5:30 a.m. on Oct. 15.
Drivers should use caution when traveling through the detour and be alert to construction crews working in the area.
