DURHAM – Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation plan to close a section of Chapel Hill Road near Ward Street to replace a crossline pipe that has failed.
Weather permitting, crews will close this section of Chapel Hill Road on Wednesday at 8 a.m. and it will remain closed until the evening of Oct. 24.
Northbound Chapel Hill Road traffic will detour to Ward Street, James Street, Bivins Street back to Chapel Hill Road.
Southbound Chapel Hill Road traffic will detour to Bivins Street, James Street, Ward Street back to Chapel Hill Road.
Drivers should be mindful of posted signs and use extra caution in this work zone.
