CHAPEL HILL – Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation will close several ramps in both directions of Interstate 40 in Chapel Hill next week, weather permitting.
The
I-40 West off-ramp at N.C. 86 (Exit 266) is scheduled to close for traffic shift operations Oct. 27 through Oct. 29, starting at 10 p.m. and reopening by 5 a.m. each day.
Motorists traveling west on I-40 wanting to access N.C. 86 should take Exit 263, turn left onto New Hope Church Road, turn left to get on I-40 East, then take Exit 266.
Additionally, the I-40 East on and off-ramps at N.C. 86 (Exit 266) are set to close Oct. 29 at 10 p.m. and reopen the following morning by 5 a.m. The closures are necessary for crews to conduct ramp construction.
