NCDOT to Replace Bridge over Coddle Creek in Mooresville

MOORESVILLE – An N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will begin replacing an Iredell County bridge early next week.

R.E. Burns and Sons Co. Inc., of Statesville, earned the $1.7 million contract to replace the bridge on Linwood Road over Coddle Creek in Mooresville.

After 48 years in use, the existing structure is nearing the end of its service-life. The replacement bridge will be built to modern standards including wider lanes.

Beginning Monday, Nov. 3, crews will close Linwood Road near Patterson Farm Road to begin construction of the new bridge. A signed detour will guide drivers around the closure using Teeter Road, N.C. 152 and Patterson Farm Road.

The contract calls for construction to finish in fall 2026.
