New Interchange Coming to Davie County

BERMUDA RUN – The N.C. Department of Transportation recently awarded a $ 32.2 million contract to Branch Civil Inc., to construct a new interchange on Interstate 40 in Davie County.

The project will extend Baltimore Road about three-quarters of a mile to form a new interchange with a bridge over I-40. The interchange will have ramps and loops, allowing drivers to access the interstate from the Baltimore Road extension.

The project will create a new route for residents to reach the interstate without driving through the intersections of U.S. 158 and N.C. 801 in Bermuda Run or U.S. 158 and Farmington Road near North Davie Middle and Davie County High Schools. This NCDOT website has more information about the project.

The project will also relocate part of Baltimore Road, building a new intersection where U.S 158 will meet the relocated road and add a traffic signal at that location.

The contractor can start as early as December with completion in winter 2029.
