RURAL HALL – N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will close the Westinghouse Road bridge over U.S. 52 and restrict lanes at Exit 39 beginning this weekend for repairs.
The right lane of U.S. 52 Northbound at Exit 39 will close nightly at 8 p.m. between Nov. 16 and 21 and reopen each morning at 6, weather permitting.
The Westinghouse Road bridge will close Nov. 16 at 8 p.m. and will remain closed until repairs are finished. The closure is needed to prevent further damage to the bridge girders. The Exit 39 ramps will remain open during the project, and a signed detour will direct traffic around the bridge closure.
The repairs are needed after a truck hit the bridge in September.
Motorists should allow extra time, use caution near the work zone, and follow all posted detours.
