WINSTON-SALEM
– A contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation will close the right lane of Interstate 40 East for about a week as part of the ongoing Winston-Salem Northern Beltway project.
I-40 East between High Point Road (mile marker 198) and Union Cross Road (Exit 201) will close at 9 p.m. Dec. 2 - 8 and reopen each morning by 5:30 a.m., weather permitting.
The lane closure is necessary to begin the removal of concrete barrier wall from the edge of the travel lane.
Motorists should allow extra time for travel and should use caution when traveling through the work zone.
