ROCKY MOUNT – The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles earlier this week reopened a license plate agency (LPA) in Durham after it moved to a new location.
The agency is located at 4723 N.C. Hwy. 55, Suite 7A, at the Triangle Square Shopping Center, in Durham, and is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday, except on state holidays. The office, owned by Triangle Management Agency, Inc., and operated by Chris Wilson, reopened on Nov. 24.
In North Carolina, NCDMV oversees LPAs, but the agencies are managed by private businesses or local governments.
LPAs offer vehicle registration services and title transactions, as well as vehicle license plate renewals, replacement tags, disability plates and placards, and duplicate registrations. There are 131 license plate agencies currently operating across North Carolina.
