RALEIGH – Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation plan to close a section of Ligon Mill Road near U.S. 401 for several weeks to connect the new Ligon Mill Road intersection at U.S. 401.
This closure is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. Dec. 3 and remain in place until 5 p.m. Dec. 22, weather permitting.
Southbound Ligon Mill Road traffic will detour to Burlington Mills Road and Forestville Road to access U.S. 401.
Northbound U.S. 401 traffic will use Forestville Road and Burlington Mills Road to access Ligon Mill Road.
Transportation officials urge motorists to slow down, obey all posted signs and stay alert when traveling through the work zone.
