RALEIGH – The N.C. Department of Transportation awarded a $4.2 million contract to American Contracting and Services Inc., of Jeffersonville, Ind., to rehabilitate two bridges in Raleigh.
The bridges carry New Bern Avenue over Crabtree Creek and the Carolina Coastal Railway/Norfolk Southern Railroad.
The eastbound bridge was built in 1964, and the westbound structure was built in 1995.
Work can begin as early as spring 2026 with final completion expected in the fall.
