I-40 East in Davie County Requires Overnight Closure

MOCKSVILLE – A section of Interstate 40 East is scheduled to close overnight Friday for crews to set steel bridge girders over the highway.

Eastbound traffic will be detoured between exits 174 (Farmington Road) and 180 (N.C. 801) from 11 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. the next day.

The detour will send eastbound drivers off I-40 at Exit 174, staying on Farmington Road to U.S. 158, then to N.C. 801 to re-access I-40 at Exit. 180. During this overnight closure, the Davie County Rest Area at mile marker 177 for I-40 East will be closed.

A contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation is replacing the bridge on Pinebrook School Road across Interstate 40.
